Top Parties This CNY Weekend

Soul Clap - Live at Movement 2011 by Soul Clap / EFUNK

Hit up Velvet Underground this Friday (Jan 20) where super-busy deejaying duo Cnyce & Elyte aka Soul Clap, who's been ripping it up in the past few years via some storming, tough releases for the likes of Wolf + Lamb, Crosstown Rebels, Culprit, Glass Table, Suol, Magic Bag & Double Standard, host a night of four-to-the-floor fun.

The Chroam boys are back this Friday to play their tropical-soul rhythms, this time at Piedra Negra with Afro & Latin beats, and percussive rhythms all on the menu.

Dutch jock Marcel Woods takes control of Avalon this Friday for a heaping helping of trance old and new, along with dashes of electro and good old house. Yum.

Above: Poptart highlights at The Butter Factory.

weelikeme, Jah & Jinmart are the DJs behind this messy rock & roll-indie-metal-whatever-floats-their-boat shindig that is Poptart, featuring fist pumping action and lots of heavy drinking.  So hit up Velvet Underground this Saturday (Jan 21).

If off-kilter rhythms moves you, then mosey on down to Home Club this Saturday for I <3 Dubstep. DJs Deville, Jerls, Darren Dubwise, Andy Vortex and Reiki wig out at this night of bass-oriented madness, with a dressed-up crowd of revelers jiving, bopping, strolling and twisting the night away.

Electric Playgrnd Vol - 9 (Moombahton) (Mix By Marcus) by DJMarcus

Zirca’s electro-house guru, Marcus, sets the dance floor shimmying this Friday on Electric Playgrnd: Crystallised, with the flagship night’s boss man joined at this edition by MC Boo.

Before things go all dong dong chiang on Monday, take a break from spring cleaning and hit up Tanjong Beach Club for the CNY edition of its Smack My Beach Up this Sunday from 3pm. Let DJ Donn create a festive sandstorm with his funky beats.
