WIN! 1-day passes to the Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention. Find out how.
Whether you’re a closet geek or have been flaunting your love for toys, games and comics for a while , it’s that time of the year again to get excited.
The Singapore Toys, Games and Comics Convention (STGCC) is back again for its fourth incarnation, and that means you’ll be able to join other fellow geeks in making the most out of this two-day extravaganza of comics, anime, manga, toys and games featuring famous personalities from all round the globe.
Last year, the convention drew more than 28,000 fans and a total visitor-ship of 72,000. Comic book fans were treated to an appearance by some of their idols from Marvel Comics featuring writers and illustrators such C.B. Cebulski, Salvador Larroca and Matt Fraction.
This year’s instalment will be held on 20-21 August at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre. For the first time in Southeast Asia, comic book heavyweight DC Comics will be making an appearance at the STGCC with its own dedicated DC Comics booth.
For the uninitiated, DC Comics is home to icons like Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and more. Fans can look forward to an exclusive comic, glimpses at upcoming DC toys and other surprises!
Besides featuring work and creations from the heavyweights, there will be a special showcase for new talent from this region. Artist Alley is a special segment which gives aspiring artists an international platform to showcase their creative talent and artwork.
Another crowd-pleaser is STGCC’s Cosplay component, and this year sees superstar Japanese Cosplayer Kipi making her debut performance here. Hong Kong cult favorite Hot Toys will also be launching limited edition collectibles from their 2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive range!
