USS conjures up more Singapore-themed scares with Halloween Horror Nights 5

Now in its fifth year, Halloween Horror Nights is back this 2015 from 2 - 31 October at Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa.

The theme for this year's event is centred around the blood moon phenomenon, where it is believed that the rare occurrence leads to heightened paranormal activity.

This year's edition will also feature the event's first collaboration with local horror fiction series 'True Singapore Ghost Stories'.

Working with author Russell Lee, ghosts of Malay folklore - such as toyols and pontianaks - will be brought to life in an attraction set in an MRT station and train. This haunted house is a twisted take on the recent spate of train breakdowns in Singapore.

Another highlight of this year's event is the introduction of a  "dark house", where visitors must use their sense of touch to make their way through the haunted house in complete darkness.

For the claustrophobic, the Tunnel People is the haunted house to explore as you get a taste of what's its like to be trapped underground but for that uniquely Singapore horror spin, walk into the various households of Siloso Gateway Block 50 to experience an eerier side of the heartlands. Thereafter, the Hell House filled with mysterious, life-sized paper effigies will be sure to give you the fright of your life.

The last haunted house spills out to the Hungry Ghosts segment, where you meet with the lost souls of the Seventh Month.
