The long week has finally comes to a close and you must be wondering what can possibly top last weekend’s ZoukOut (read our review here) madness. We are kind of partial to flea markets; where else can you find random collection of stuff on sale at affordable prices? This weekend, there is a car boot sale and flea market happening at the Playground @ Big Splash. Take your time as you peruse the eclectic array of items on sales by entrepreneurs from all walks of life. In line with the Christmas spirit, there will be carolers who will sing Christmas carols to bring the Christmas cheer to the whole affair.
Have a heart, support local art; Verve 2012 is a festival for budding local artists to present their art to an audience. These various artists will be performing their interpretation of the theme “the place where roads intersect”. Indeed the event is intended to be a meeting point of sorts where the artists not only perform but also exchange ideas among their fellow artists. All proceeds from the event will go The Business Times Budding Artists fund.
The Unity Tour 2012 comes to Singapore this weekend! The first family of music, The Jacksons will be in Singapore for a one night performance on 15 December. Their last global tour was in 1984 so this one is a long time coming. It goes without saying that this tour will be a memorial of sorts for the passing of the most celebrated brother, Michael Jackson. Madonna is coming to Singapore! Well, not exactly but an exhibition of the music iconbefore-seen photographs will be on display at W Singapore for the MADONNA: A Transformational Exhibition. It features the work of celebrity photographers Richard Corman and George DuBose.
It’s the year end and The Philharmonic Winds are having their annual year end party. They will be performing their very own version of popular pop songs that you hear on radio. Be prepared for a memorable musical night as Singapore’s premier wind ensemble performs for you. The highlight of the night will be a guest performance by Melbourne base performer Charlie Lim. Charlie’s signature folk rock style will put a delightful twist to the evening’s affairs.
