Make up, wine tasting and gold this weekend

Ladies (and gentlemen), this one’s for you. Youtube Beauty Guru Michelle Phan is here for one day only to conduct the LancomeColourArtistryWorkshop. Held this Sunday (29 Jul), sign up quickly to learn the tricks of the trade, at either 1:30 or 3:30 pm. Each one and a half hour course is $80.

Wine, anyone? Join Liz Mencel and her group from Equatorial Wines for the StellaBellaWineTastingatPraelumWineBistro. It’s going to be a fine Saturday evening of grapes and canapés, so sniff, sip and savour your way to gastronomical bliss. $55++ per person.

Sometimes, it’s hardest to speak to those closest to you. DearMom is a series of monologues chronicling the desires, dreams, hopes and heartbreaks of a group of coming-of-age peoples. Heartfelt and poignant, you might find your own thoughts and feelings echoed in their words. Held on Saturday and Sunday in the Black Box at the Goodman Arts Centre, tickets are $15.

Stay golden at the 24 KaratParty. Held at Ku De Ta this Saturday, flash your gold threads as you party the whole night long. Entry plus one drink is $38.

Whilst God tells us that we must not steal, no one said that we cannot barter. Head down to the Chijmes Lawn this Friday and Saturday for the ChapelMarket. You might just find something at a price so good, it’s almost a steal.

Think you’re a chopstick expert? Find out at OneMinute, Can?, this Sunday, at Downtown East where you can participate in mini one minute competitions, such as picking up 20 marbles using chopsticks. Other challenges include stacking 5 apples on top of each other- deceptively simple tasks using various household objects. All competitors will receive a goodie bag filled with attractive items! Entry is $11 for the public or $6 with the NTUC plus or nEbO plus.

It’s a day of bikinis, boardshorts and bodysurfing action at the Wave House this Saturday, because it’s the JimBeamFLOWJAM 2012 ontheFlowBarrel 10. From 10am till 6pm, catch a smorgasboard of flowboarding action, maybe you can even try it yourself!

Over at Zouk on Friday, DJ Formative (the alter-ego of Zouk's DJB) will tear up the dancefloor with heart-stopping bangers and floorfillers with guest Chris B. The night's theme is "Be Sexy" so no prizes for guessing what's the dress code.

Learn more about Thai Culture through the SingaporeArtMuseumAppreciatingArtLectureSeries: Thailand. Explore more than a 1000 years of Thai Art this Friday night from Buddhist temple murals to modern video and photography. 7:30- 7pm, entry is $11, excluding booking fee.
