Audi Fashion Festival and more this weekend

The weekends are finally here, just in time for you to catch the remaining days of Audi Fashion Festival 2012(through May 20). Catch Jonathan Simkhai, named one of Elle.com’s top 12 designers to watch and Saena Chun, who has worked for Celine, Chloe and Sonia Rykiel and many other big names in fashion!

Still on the subject on fashion. This weekend also sees the return of Blueprint Emporium(through May 20). Head down to Suntec Convention Centre to get your mitts on limited edition as well as sample pieces from the most coveted and emerging fashion designers.

If you haven’t already been to the Universal Studios Singapore, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to roll out. Experience the newest attraction, Transformers: The Ride, in a hyper-realistic 3D thrill ride! Join the Autobots as you become a freedom fighter in the ultimate battle against the evil forces.

While you’re in Sentosa, why not go go for the Maritime Silk Route Exhibition @ Maritime Experiential Museum & Aquarium (MEMA)? Housing several exhibitions based around the theme of the Maritime Silk Road, this steel-and-glass ship-hull museum features the Typhoon Theatre -- definitely not for the seasick ones. The Typhoon Theatre allows audiences to “board” an Arabia-bound sailing ship and in the journey, experience a storm. Grab your adventure gear and go forth.

Love some head-shaking, booty-grooving time? Smack My Beach Up: The Right Angle Series is perfect for you. This girl power Sunday features DJs CATSONCR*CK, Mera Jin & Jah on the decks. Feast on delicious selections from the grill and witness some sexy pole dancing with dancers from the renowned Bobbi’s Pole Studio.

Remember how communication started off with letter writing, and picture language of ancient times? Message Me exhibition takes you back in time and explore the evolution of communication from ancient times to the current usage of mobile phone text messages. View some intriguing techniques of communications in the past such as radio, Morse code, facsimile and more.

Hit up Velvet Underground this Friday (18 May) as local dance collective Midnight Shift throws another shindig. On the decks is Velvet resident Jeremy Boon who is joined by vocalist Hafez Masterpiece as well as a mystery female guest vocalist. Also in the lineup is veteran DJ Eddie Niguel as well as a mystery guest DJ.

If you share the love we have for the comic book character Tintin and his loveable dog, Snow, and then The Adventures of Tintin exhibition is for you. View some beautiful exhibits of the character including a full range of Tintin postage stamps, rarely seen original stamp artworks, colour trails and more. On 19 May, you can even join a workshop to learn how to draw your favourite character, Tintin.
