You might even catch American model Alex Minsky (pictured right) at one of the shows. The former US Marine, lost his right leg right in Afghanistan after his truck ran over an IED explosive. If you'd rather pig out on ice cream, you're in luck. It's the annual Ben & Jerry's Chunk Fest on 12 October. It’s your only chance to try out 18 special flavours flown in exclusively from the US. Among the sweet treats there will also be teams pitted against each other in the Vermonster challenge. Yum!

There's free flow beer at the open house of D'Kranji farm resort, one of the few farmstays available in Singapore. There will even be flea market stalls and a fishing village. Fun for the family all round.

Why not do some good and adopt at pet at the ‘Cat In A Box’ adoption drive happening from 1-6pm on 12 and 13 October. Held at Lock+Store (6 Ayer Rajah Crescent, Singapore 139962 Tel: 6775 8233), the adoption drive cum flea market hopes to find loving homes for cats, dogs and rabbits.
