ZoukOut 2014 line-up revealed

ZoukOut 2014, to be held on 12 and 13 December this year, already looks to be a star-studded beach party.

Among the 10 first wave of acts announced for the two-day annual event are trance trio Above & Beyond, Swedish EDM staple Steve Angello, Dutchman Nicky Romero as well as superstar DJ Steve Aoki. Other acts include Dannic, W&W, Showtek, Nina Kraviz, LocoDice and Mano Le Tough.

On Thursday 28 August, the initial line-up was leaked via Twitter, and it was confirmed Friday.

Above & Beyond are ZoukOut regulars, having played in 2012 and 2008, while Aoki last made an appearance in 2007. For Angello, it will be his first time playing at the prolific beach party, having last been here for a farewell tour with Swedish House Mafia in January 2013.

Tickets for ZoukOut 2014 are due to go on sale on Monday 1 September at 3pm via www.zoukclub.com.

Now in its 14th year, the festival, held at Siloso Beach on Sentosa, saw a record turnout of 41,000 people in 2013. Last year’s edition featured Dash Berlin, Martin Solveig, Zedd, Alesso and Danny Avila.

EXTENDED LEASE OF LIFE

Earlier this year, Zouk was at risk of being shut down when the club's lease expires at the end of 2014, and it was unable to secure an extension at Jiak Kim street.

This prompted talk that the club might close for good. The club rallied support from the online community, club-goers as well as international DJs. The ‘Save Zouk’ campaign even garnered global support.

Just last week, it was announced that Zouk secured a lease extension for another three years, provided it finds a new location by mid-2015.

Party-goers will probably show greater support now, and if the first wave of acts were anything to go by, this year’s ZoukOut certainly looks promising.
