Film posters are still an incredibly important part of a film’s marketing push. They serve as both advertisements for the films and as gorgeous pieces of art, and there is a growing market for collecting alternative versions of movie posters.

Singapore-based creative agency and art-design gallery Kult invited more than 50 artists from around the world to re-imagine movie posters.

These artworks were created for the 'Film' issue of Kult magazine, which was released in conjunction with independent cinema The Projector's opening.

From cult classics such as 'Jaws' (1975), 'Taxi Driver' (1976) and 'Barbarella' (1968) to recent favourites like 'V For Vendetta' (2005), 'Napoleon Dynamite' (2004) and 'Inception' (2010), these posters are, according to Kult, intended to inspire today’s generation to re-visit and discover some truly world-class movies.

The posters are S$100 each and available from the Kult Magazine store.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.
