Directed by Justin Reardon, ‘Playing it Cool’ stars Chris Evans (without shield and Captain America suit) as a pessimistic screenwriter who takes on a gig writing a romantic comedy in this romantic comedy (meta!).
He then meets a woman (Michelle Monaghan) at a charity dinner by pretending to be a philanthropist and takes a fancy to her even though she is engaged. He continues to keep up a platonic relationship with her just to be in her company.
‘Playing it Cool’ is lightweight compared to the almost similar ‘The F Word’ (2014), where Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan explore the same relationship issues with relatable charm.
