The Conjuring 2

For fans of: ‘The Conjuring’ (2013) and ‘Insidious’ (2011)

Horror maestro James Wan returns for the sequel to his supernatural horror hit ‘The Conjuring’. Starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, the movie is set in 1977 and follows paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they travel to England to help a single mom raising four children who are plagued by malicious spirits.

The Warrens are real-life supernatural investigators and authors. The first film was based on their reported experiences, and this one follows their Enfield Poltergeist findings. 

Warcraft: The Beginning

For fans of: Mages, paladins, orcs and the Lich King

Filmmaker Duncan Jones directs this feature adaptation of the world-renowned fantasy videogame ‘Warcraft’.

This film tells the story of the first war between the orc Horde and the Alliance of humans, elves, dwarves and gnomes. With the orcs’ homeland Draenor dying and no longer able to sustain its millions of inhabitants, their only hope lies in evacuation. The Horde’s tribal society consists of clans, among them the Frostwolf Clan led by Toby Kebbell’s Durotan and his second in command, Orgrim.

With a wife, Draka (Anna Galvin), and child to protect, Durotan works with ruthless orc warlock Gul’dan (Daniel Wu), who’s betting everything on a dark magic called the Fell and the Dark Portal – a gateway to another world. The problem? That other world is Azeroth and its people are none too happy to see armies of hulking brutes invading their land.

Singapore filmmaking goldenly Anthony Chen executive produces this new omnibus featuring three stories helmed by three young and upcoming Asian directors: Xin Yukun from China, Tan Shijie from Singapore and Sivaroj Kongsakul from Thailand.

Robinson Crusoe

For fans of: ‘Ice Age’ (2002) and ‘Up’ (2009) 

On an exotic island, Tuesday - a parrot - dreams about discovering the world. After a violent storm, Tuesday and his pals find a man (and perhaps a ticket off the island) washed up on the beach: Robinson Crusoe. This animated family adventure is from Belgium animation house nWave, makers of ‘The House of Magic’ and ‘Sammy's Adventures’.
