A sky-high view, men in spiffy tuxedos, martinis –shaken and stirred, Champagne and all things secret agent-ish will dished out in large servings at 1-Altitude for the Ultimate Bond Anniversary Party.
5 October will mark the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, which has reached immense global popularity since Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman first adapted Ian Fleming's book in 1962 by brining ‘Dr. No’ to the big screen.
Hosted by radio DJs Bobby Tonelli and Jacqui from 987FM, the party will see guests treated to everything Bond – from signature Bond music and loads of Bond trivia to martinis, Bollinger Champagne and free flow of Heineken beer. You can even earn your 007 “license” by completing a series of tasks. The best dressed of the night stands to win a pair of air tickets to London.
The 007 franchise today is the longest running in film history with twenty-three films produced and the latest, ‘Skyfall’ starring Daniel Craig as the iconic agent, will be released in Singapore on 1 November.
In the US, events for Global James Bond Day include a film retrospective at The Museum of Modern Art in New York and a Music of Bond Night hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles. In other countries around the world, special events have been planned. In the UK, an auction of James Bond memorabilia is taking place at Christie’s with all proceeds going to UNICEF and a number of charitable causes.
In Belgium and South Africa, offices will celebrate with Bond-themed Casual Fridays where people will turn up to work dressed in gowns and tuxedos. In addition, ‘EVERYTHING OR NOTHING: The Untold Story of 007’, the feature documentary, will be screened in Australia, Belgium, France, Holland, India, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, and Russia. Radio stations around the world are planning to play Bond theme songs.
Ultimate Bond Anniversary Party is on 5 October, 6-9pm at 1-Altitude. $28 includes 1 glass of Martini, 1 glass of Bollinger Champagne, free flow of Heineken beer and free ticket to the premiere ‘Skyfall’ . ‘Skyfall’ opens in theatres 1 November
