The annual Singapore Sun Festival is back for the fourth time! Here’s the breakdown for the 10-day festival from October 29 to November 7.

A multi-arts and integrated lifestyle festival that celebrates the ‘Art of Living Well’, the Singapore Sun Festival does it through seven channels – Music, Visual Art, Literature, Film, Wine, Food and Wellness. This year’s event boasts big-name musicians and artistes such as David Foster, Natalie Cole, Jóse Carreras, Sharon Stone and more.




HITMAN – David Foster and Friends (Oct 29 and 30) – The highlight of the festival this year includes headliners in the music industry such as multi-Grammy award winning musician David Foster; jazz crooner Natalie Cole, daughter of legend Nat King Cole; young singing sensation Charice; American Idol winner Ruben Studdard and The Canadian Tenors in two gala night performances. Visual Arts


Jimmy Ong @STPI(Oct 29 to Nov 7) – Considered one of Singapore’s finest contemporary artists, visual artist Jimmy Ong presents his exhibition at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute with his large scale, figurative charcoal works on paper. Ong’s ‘SGD’ exhibition is a landmark as he paints a personal reflection of Singapore’s socio-economic transformation.

The Poet, The Dancer, The Writer, The Wanderer, The Pleasure Seeker: Who is Tishani Doshi?(Nov 7 at The Veuve Clicquot Sun Tent, Esplanade Park) – Hear poet/dancer/writer Doshi share her fictional tribute to her parents with her first novel The Pleasure Seekers. The result of mixed parentage of Gujarati and Welsh heritage, Doshi published a poetry collection and won the prestigious Forward Prize for Best First Collection for it.

Up Close and Personal with Sharon Stone(Nov 6 at LaSalle College of the Arts) – One of Hollywood’s favourite leading ladies takes the stage for a candid onstage interview with film critic and lecturer Ben Slater about her life and career.

Other screenings: Classic Film Screenings at the Singapore Botanic Gardens with movies such as North by Northwest(Oct 30), Dial M For Murder(Oct 31), An American in Paris(Nov 5) and Singin’ In The Rain(Nov 6) – all free admissions.


Wine & Cuisine


A Symphony of Stars!(Nov 7 at Ballroom, The Fullerton Hotel) – this closing event sees a special auction of luxury items led by film star Sharon Stone, with full proceeds of the auction going to Action for AIDS Singapore. Guests will get to enjoy cuisine prepared by Australia’s ‘Take Home Chef’, acclaimed author and television personality Curtis Stone and warm and tropical sounds of Creole Choir of Cuba.

A Series of Meditations by Master Umesh H. Nandwani(Nov 1, 3, 5 and 7 at The Veuve Clicquot Sun Tent, Esplanade Park) – Described as a ‘simply magical and powerful experience’, Meditation Instructor and Holistic Trainer Umesh H. Nandwani will help you to learn skills and techniques of meditation to achieve inner peace, harmony, love and strength.
