Don’t miss checking out the various performances at this year’s M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2012. We are especially intrigued by Singapore(until Feb 19) by The Necessary Stage. In this performance, The Necessary Stage looks at themes of migration, harmony and identity, delving into Singapore's history and the psyche of the people by bringing historical characters to life. Watch as factual and fictional characters merge with real and imagined events to create a theatre that makes the impossible possible.
Put some magic in your life this weekend with The Illusionists (through Mar 4)! Renowned masters of the sleight of hand, Dan Sperry, Brett Daniels, James Dimmare, Phillip Escoffey and Andrew Bass perform a special show at the Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre. Head on over to SCAPE Warehouse for some J-pop fun! Catch SDN48 (Saturday Night 48) for their final performance in Singapore on February 17 (tickets $50 from www.akb48.com.sg). For the uninitiated, SDN48 is a Japanese idol girl group created and produced by Yasushi Akimoto. They are the ‘older sister’ group to the massively successful AKB48. Their debut song GAGAGA was a hit in the Oricon singles weekly charts. Catch them at their last concert in Singapore!

Take a trip down to Avalon this Friday as one of the pioneers of progressive house music John Digweed holds court behind the decks. His list of achievements is groundbreaking to say the least. Highlights of which would be the first proper dj mix compilation ("Renaissance", done with Sasha), being the first British dj to hold a residency at what was then the world's most well known club in NYC (Twilo, also with Sasha) as well as having remixed music by Danny Tenaglia, Underworld, Quincy Jones and New Order.
