Equestrian spectacular 'Cavalia' set to thrill with horsemanship and theatre

Horsing around has never looked awesome until the horses of 'Cavalia', a unique equestrian themed theatrical show comes to Singapore this August.

'Cavalia' is the brainchild of Normad Latourelle, one of the co-founders of the famed Cirque du Soleil.

Seen by over four million people worldwide, the show unfolds under a specially created 2,440-square-metre big top tent — the biggest touring tent in the world — at Bayfront Avenue, beside the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

A re-invention of the equestrian arts, 'Cavalia' features 50 horses and 43 riders, aerialists, acrobats and musicians from all over the world - all cavorting in front of a constantly changing digital background projected onto a 60 metre-wide screen.

The show explores the relationship between humans and horses throughout history and it combines the breathtaking beauty and brawn of its four legged stars with the jaw-dropping feats of its human cast to dazzle you.

Latourelle, founder and artistic director said, "We are thrilled to announce our first ever Asian tour and it is an honor to bring this show, an idea that started in Canada, to a region which has such a great affinity with the performing arts and during the auspicious year of the horse in the Chinese Zodiac."
