Five fans from around the region will win the chance to meet and greet the footballer at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands as part of the ‘Unlocking the Vault to Meet David Beckham’ Facebook contest .

One lucky winner from each country, namely South Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, will be flown to Singapore with a friend for an exclusive meet-up with Beckham, as well as a one-night stay at a hotel at the Marina Bay Sands.

The 39-year-old former Real Madrid and Manchester United footballer, who is now more familiar as a fashion model for clothes brand H&M, was last in Singapore in 2013 for a surprise appearance at the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

His wife Victoria was also in Singapore recently to launch her new line of accessories with On Pedder.

Beckham's appearance comes on the heels of former Manchester United centreback Rio Ferdinand and current Argentina golden boy and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, who were both in Singapore for Singtel Game On!, while former Liverpool footballer Michael Owen is due to arrive at the tail end of June.

Along with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who will be at the Singapore Cricket Club on 3 June at the invitation of the Royal Bank of Scotland for a master class with 20 young cricketers, these few months are certainly turning out to be fun times for sports fans in Singapore.
