LA rockers Deap Vally to play debut show in Singapore

Credited with bringing some much needed female energy to the male-dominated world of rock ‘n’ roll, California duo Deap Vally are coming to Singapore this August for a one-night only show.

Made up of Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards, the two-woman band are taking over the world, complete with one drum kit, one guitar, authentic Led Zeppeling-esque caterwauling and and plenty of riot grrrl bravado.

Edwards, the drumming half of the band, proves that they defy expectations. “I think people could look at us and make one assumption, and then when they see us play, that assumption will be shattered. And that’s the beauty of it,” she said.

‘Baby I Call Hell’

Armed with their debut release, ‘Sistrionix’, the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll is very much alive in Deap Vally - and you catch them in the flesh.

As part of Dr Martens #Standforsomething, the band will be playing a free show at Beep studios on 22 August. Picku up a pair of tickets for yourself from 1 August at Dr. Martens stores at Orchard Central and Wheelock Place. No purchase is necessary, and tickets are limited to two per person.
