F1 adds Shakira & Boy George to lineup

Singapore GP has just announced that Colombian superstar Shakira is set to perform on September 24 (Saturday) at the Padang Main Stage during the 2011 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.

This is in addition to the previously announced performances by Linkin Park, Shaggy, Rick Astley, Charice and Massive Attack’s Daddy G & 3D. (Read here for story)

Joining the sexy singer on Saturday is 80s icon and superstar DJ, Boy George who will perform his greatest hits and chart-toppers such a “Karma Chameleon”, “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me” and “Bow Down Mister at the Village Stage (Zone 1).

Shakira was catapulted to international fame with the phenomenal success of Laundry Service, "Whenever, Wherever," and "Hips Don't Lie." Her Oral Fixation album earned her a Grammy and three Latin Grammys.

Among the top five most successful artists since 2000, this award-winning singer has the attention of audiences across the globe. Her sixth album, She Wolf, released in November 2009, cemented Shakira’s position as one of the top-earning women in music -- not just in Colombia -- but worldwide. Her seventh studio album, the bilingual Sale el Sol, was released October 2010.

Tickets for the 2011 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix are priced from S$118 for a Saturday single-day Zone 4 Walkabout ticket to S$1,288 for a three-day Turn 1 or 2 Grandstand ticket. All tickets allow patrons access to the Padang main stage in Zone 4, where Shakira will be performing.
