Some of Singapore's iconic landmarks, The Esplanade, The Arts House, The Supreme Court, The Art Science Museum at Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer, have become the backdrops for Hollywood action thriller ‘Hitman: Agent 47’, opening in August 2015.

This is the first American studio film produced with Singapore as a setting, courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox International and backed by Singapore's Media Development Authority.

In the movie directed by Aleksander Bach and based on a video game series, Rupert Friend (from US TV series ‘Homeland’) stars as the titular Agent 47, who has been genetically engineered to be an assassin.

Zachary Quinto ('Star Trek') plays John Smith, a CIA agent and a foil for 47's ruthless efficiency.

The first ‘Hitman’ movie debuted in 2007, with Timothy Olyphant as the lead.

Paul Walker from 'Fast & Furious' was first slated to take the lead in this latest remake. His untimely death meant the studio had to recast and Friend stepped up to the plate.
