First Look: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

The much-anticipated Hollywood adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo doesn’t hit cinemas until December, but we have got lots of goodies for you—from character images, soundtrack sneaks and a trailer!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, directed by David Fincher, is to be the first of three Hollywood films based on Swedish author Stieg Larsson's best-selling thriller trilogy. We were never big fans of Hollywood remakes but with the master of modern noir at the helm, maybe…just maybe we have a winner here.

Here’s the trailer:

In true Fincher style, we see him employing his distinct grungy and gritty visual language here, just like his previous winners Fight Club, Se7en and Zodiac. The movie revolves around a ruthless computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Mara) and a disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig). Salander and Blomkvist are employed to find missing girl Harriet Vanger by her uncle. And oh... is that Karen O we hear singing in the trailer...

The movie stars Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, Christopher Plummer, Joel Kinnaman, Goran Visnjic and Yorick van Wageningen and is scheduled to hit theatres on December 21, 2011.

Producers Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails fame) and Atticus Ross who both won Oscar gold for their soundtrack to The Social Network, are back behind the producing desk to score for this movie (listen to audio clip above).
