Director Peter Jackson's follow up to 2012's 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' is expected to burst into theatres come 12 December but with about two months to go, we have to contend with a brand new trailer for the second instalment of the three-part feature.
'Desolation of Smaug' continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Film stars Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Ian McKellen, Lee Pace, Hugo Weaving, among others.
The new trailer gives us a better look at what Bilbo and the company of dwarves are up to as they make their way to the Lonely Mountain. The trailer focuses on the dwarves moving nearer to reclaiming their homeland, while giving plenty of screentime to Orlando Bloom as he reprises his role of Legolas from 'Lord of the Rings' — this time alongside Evangeline Lilly as love interest Tauriel.
This latest look at the film also delivers something many fans were anticipating -- to finally have a peek and hear the Erebor's infamous resident dragon, Smaug which is voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch.
