Free events for your free time this weekend!

Greetings to all superstitious people! Head on down toM1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2012, amidst their series of exhibitions taking place during the festivals, there’s one for you. Watch a Feng Shui master curate the exhibition display based on his expert knowledge! It’s going to be a unique experience as your expectations for the exhibition will be enhanced and challenged.

How about taking your little ones to the Animal & Bird Encounter at Palawan Beach, Sentosa? While you’re there, you could bask in the sun and take a splash in the water. Your little ones can let their creativity flow by building sand castles by the beach after the activity too.

Authentic Africa exhibition by Greg du Toit

For those of you who love African wildlife or are going for Cirque Mother Africa and want to see photographs of the real wildlife, visit the Authentic Africa exhibition by Greg du Toit. Showcasing a dynamic collection of natural history images, the pictures were photographed on the floor of the Kalahri Desert and termed as an “Authentic Africa” exhibition.

If you’re an art lover, take some time off to go to the first Singapore exhibition of award-winning Indian artist, Mithu Sen, at the In House Adoption by Mithu SEN. His solo exhibition will showcase works on paper and collage, engaging viewers so that “there’s interaction and the art becomes a performance” as said by Sen herself.

For a more educational activity, try the “Air Raid Shelters in War-Time Singapore” Exhibition and Exclusive Guided Tours. Grab this rare chance to walk through the pre-war air raid shelter and learn more about the history of air raid shelters during pre-war and war-time Singapore.

Love the thought of art on the move? Well, although not exactly mobile art, Artists Caravan Exhibition sounds close enough. It is an independent, non-profit exhibition! A group of artists showcase their beautiful art works and also organise projects exploring questions of issues of art and life today! Go on down to view the beautiful art works and learn a thing or two.

If you love a musical ambience coupled with a few drinks to kick start the weekends, head on down to Timbre and catch local band 53A. Let their upbeat, chilled out tunes bring you through the night as you relax the night away and rid of all your stress to welcome the weekends.
