Guinness leans in on original Singapore music

There is a hotbed of talented musicians in Singapore and a sizeable community of live music lovers out there, and Guinness the stout-maker is not about to let that go untapped.

In support of the scene, it recently launched a new music programme, Guinness Amplify, with the theme to celebrate music “Made of More”.

The programme provides a platform for Singapore’s up-and-coming musicians to unleash and showcase their bold and original compositions.

Timbre Group, the live-music-and-dining outfit that has been supporting the development of the music scene here, will introduce the event ‘Guinness Amplify Presents’ at its branch at The Substation.

Starting Wednesday 26 November, anticipate an ongoing series of live music sessions at Timbre @ The Substation every week.

Singapore’s pioneers of live music, Jack & Rai, will kickstart the debut session, and the first performer to be showcase is Deon, a singer-songwriter who has written songs for Singapore band Flybar.

The next showcase on Wednesday 17 December will feature beat-boxer Kai, a live-looping artiste and vocal percussionist with the cappella group, Vocaluptuous.

A total of 12 artistes will be featured every month.

Not exclusively at Timbre, another collaboration with Universal Music will take these great music experiences to audiences online. Keep your eyes peeled for new tracks and the artistes’ stories at Guinness Singapore Facebook.

‘Guinness Amplify’ | Date: Every Wednesday from 26 November 2014 | Time: From 8.30pm | Venue: Timbre @ The Substation, 45 Armenian Street | Free (minimum one drink applies)
