Guten Tag to German Film!

 Achtung! Oktoberfest may be over, but the German force remains strong within Singapore.

The 14th German Film Festival returns featuring a whopping lineup of 27 award-winning films and co-productions, previously shown at the Berlinale and in other famous international film festivals, such as Cannes and Venice.


Finally arriving in Singapore for its long-overdue premiere, Michael Haneke's highly lauded and multi-award winning film The White Ribbon opens for the Fesitval. Set on the eve of the First World War, this cinematic masterpiece uncovers hidden secrets and tales of religious repression long kept behind closed doors. Winner of the Golden Palm and a Golden Globe as best foreign language film, this is definitely a must-watch! For a taste of this classic, check out the trailer below.

Another highlight of the Festival is the Werner Herzog Retrospective, where you’ll get to review the esteemed director’s career spanning almost fifty years. Renowned for going to extreme lengths to make films, Herzog produced such classics as Aguirre, the Wrath of God and Nosferatu as well as more recent masterpieces like Grizzly Man and Bad Lieutenant - Port of call New Orleans.
