Jeremy Renner hinted that his arrow-slinging superhero character could be among the faces of the third Captain America movie.
In an interview with MTV, the actor commented on Hawkeye's place within the world of Marvel and Disney's movies. In denying any ambition to get his own solo feature, the actor indicated that he may soon come to the aid of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, who is played by Chris Evans.
"I'm happy to be the ensemble. I'm not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think [Hawkeye]'s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people's universes a little bit, especially like 'Cap 3'."
An appearance by Hawkeye in 'Captain America 3' would not come as a surprise, since the character was originally due to play a part in 'The Winter Soldier'. The scene was ultimately cut from the script due to Jeremy Renner's busy schedule.
'Captain America 3' is due to bow on 5 May 2016.
In the meantime, Marvel fans can look forward to seeing Captain America and Hawkeye -- in a more significant role -- in 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron', which hits theaters 1 May 2015.
