Get ready for the most kawaii (cute) run to hit Singapore later this year.
Beloved Sanrio character Hello Kitty is celebrating her 40th birthday with a 5km-run in Singapore on 1 November.
The fun run is catering to 15,000 participants and will cover iconic landmarks around Singapore. It will be the only celebration event of the character's birthday in Southeast Asia.
People of all ages, whether they are Hello Kitty fans or not, are expected to take part. All participants in the race are entitled to an exclusive runner’s t-shirt and a special edition commemorative Hello Kitty plush toy.
As of 26 August, pre-registration for the run has reached its capacity. Fans are encouraged to attend the fringe activities, and details on that will be announced soon.
There will be a Hello Kitty village, as well as a one-of-a-kind birthday cake, and a birthday song that is expected to be sung by fans.
There is no waiting list for the run, but interested participants may still contact the organisers via www.hellokittyrun.com.sg. Pre-registrants have two weeks to confirm their runner spots, after which the spots will be released.
