Homme Target: Men's Fashion Week

Finally, a fashion festival that focuses solely on men's fashion.

Men (well, most of them) don't let their wives (or girlfriends) do all their shopping while they sit at home and veg out anymore. Instead, they are now engaged participants in the fashion game, moving beyond deciding tie colours, the make of their shoes to which collar type suits their face best as well as actually cultivating loyalties to designers and labels.

Recognizing the changing face of men's fashion is the inaugural Men’s Fashion Week (MFW) that’s happening this March 30 to April 3 at Marina Bay Sands.

Hugo Boss’ BOSS Black Autumn/Winter 2011 Men’s Collection

Although menswear is regularly shown in fashion capitals during the fashion weeks held in September and February, and mixed in with the numerous womenswear shows, it’s quite a non-scene here—there’s only the Audi Fashion Festival. But this is about to change as the MFW will put the city on the fashion map as the third city after Paris and Milan to host men’s biggest ever fashion bonanza. Looks like Singapore is well underway to being the region’s fashion hub.

Song for the Mute

Sartorial Scoops

The five-day inaugural event will showcase the Autumn/Winter  2011 collections of up to 15 renowned brands from Singapore, the Asian region and internationally. The event hopes to give Asian designers an international platform to present their latest collections.
