The second update to the inSing Movies app (version 1.3) is the go-to movie ticket booking medium for all iOS and Android users. Free yourself from the app clutter that is your homescreen because the app now comes with an improved booking platform that is not only very accessible, but very user-friendly too.
The turn-dial at the bottom of the page takes you to five clear and distinct sections – ‘My Friends’, ‘Now Showing’, ‘Coming Soon’, ‘Cinema’ and ‘Promotions’. Logically, each section is assigned with a designated function to assist users with anything movie-related – whether you’re looking for a particular flick (under ‘Now Showing’ and ‘Coming Soon’) or looking for a particular showtime (under ‘Cinema’). It’s ad-free for the most part – saving you from having to break a sweat from weaving your way out of obtrusive pop-ups.
Browse through a wide range of current and upcoming movie releases the way you like it – by flipping through movie posters, or by scrolling down a list of movie titles. Best of all, the movie listings do not discriminate. Aside from the glut of Hollywood blockbusters, less mainstream movie-goers can also browse through an extensive range of indie and foreign films that don’t always make the walls at GV.
The most salient addition to the app allows you to make direct ticket purchases (using credit and debit cards only) from all Shaw, GV and Cathay theatres – possibly making most of your existing ticket-booking apps obsolete. As long as you’ve got your credit card ready, the process is quick, fuss-free and easy to follow. So, if you can’t wait to watch the latest Twilight installment (we’re not judging), you can now book movie dates up to three days in advance to ‘chope’ the seats closest to Robert Pattinson’s pasty face.
All cinemas included
Regardless of where you are or what time it is, inSing Movies is able to tell you not only the exact location of the cinemas listed, but also how far you are away from them. Click on the ‘Cinema’ dial, which introduces you to a full listing of showtimes from all Shaw, GV, Cathay, WE Cinemas, Filmgarde and Jade theatres. Just make sure to turn on your phone’s location services settings beforehand.
The newly integrated Facebook function (under ‘My Friends’) allows users to find out what movies their friends have ‘liked’ and recommended. Also, enjoy a more interactive movie browsing experience with user reviews and ratings that are updated on the go. All movie synopses are accompanied with a gallery of movie stills (most in high-res, too), which you can share with your friends over Facebook, Twitter, E-mail or SMS.
