John Legend, Pet Shop Boys  join S'pore F1 music line-up

There will be plenty of Grammy star power at the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix come September.

Taking on the Village Stage in Zone 1 are R&B crooner John Legend (Sunday, 21 September), synth-pop pioneers The Pet Shop Boys (Saturday, 20 September) and Reggae music stalwart Ziggy Marley (Saturday, 20 September).

The line up is in addition to Padang stage Friday headliners, Mayday.

Get ready for sexy soul tunes with John Legend, the man behind massive hits like ‘All Of Me’ and ‘Ordinary People’.He won the 'Best R&B' album for his 2004 album ‘Get Lifted’ and has garnered multiple nominations and awards since. The singer-songwriter will perform an intimate and acoustic session on race day, 21 September. Fans can catch his performance with any three-day F1 zone 1 tickets, or Sunday single day Pit Grandstand special tickets.

On Friday, the most successful duo in UK music history,  Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of The Pet Shop boys kick off the weekend of entertainment. 33 years in the music industry, and more than 50 million records later, the Boys will be back to perform in Singapore on Saturday as part of their ‘Electric Tour’.  Expect to hear classics like ‘West End Girls’ and ‘Go West’ as well as new tracks off their latest album, ‘Electric’.

While Bob Marley is celebrated for bringing reggae music to the world, his eldest son Ziggy, has admirably risen to the task of keeping the flame alive. Both as a solo artist and as the lead singer of The Melody Makers, the six-time Grammy winner has forged his own music career. With his recent 'Best Reggae' album win at the 2014 Grammys, it will be Marley's first time performing in Singapore. Along with his Zone 1 Village Stage performance on 20 September, Marley will also play the Esplanade Outdoor Stage on 21 September, just before the race.

The main headlining acts for the Padang stage on Saturday and Sunday are yet to be announced.
