Make way for the Laneway!

Music lovers, your wait is finally over. Asia’s inaugural Laneway Festival is set to be held on Sat, 29 Jan at Fort Canning Park, presented to you by the same fine people who brought us music heavyweights Florence and the Machine, The Xx and Echo and the Bunnymen last year!

What are you waiting for? Nab your tickets now, early birds are already sold out!

We can’t wait for white-hot indie darling The Temper Trap to grace our shores! Having recently swept two highly coveted ARIA awards for their critically acclaimed album Conditions, this band has exploded out of Australia into the rest of the world to achieve supernova status in a seemingly impossible short period of time.

Their hit single Sweet Disposition has been heard on so many avenues from Hollywood indie blockbuster 500 Days of Summer, Big Brother UK and a Chrysler commercial, among others. Want a teaser? Check out the video below!

Despite their phenomenal success, the boys remain keenly approachable. Check back shortly for our catch-up with affable keyboardist/guitarist Joseph Greer!

Warpaint, one of the brightest stars to emerge out of the prestigious SXSW 2010, will also be rocking our world that night. Don’t let the lasses’ sweet looks fool you – their razor-sharp melodies and irrepressible harmonies are guaranteed to knock your socks off.

For a one-lady powerhouse, watch out for Ladyhawke, who’s been wowing audiences and critics alike and is on the brink of setting the international world of stardom ablaze.

Described by Karen O as ‘a religious experience’, Georgia four-piece Deerhunter manages to combine woozy, hypnotic psychedelic pop and rock into a wholly arresting experience. Miss out and you’ll be kicking yourselves.

Lastly, veterans Foals will also be gracing our shores shortly after their recent sold-out Australian tour. Constantly likened to Oxford neighbors Radiohead, we’re just happy we get to see them live without having to fork out an arm and a leg!

The star-studded lineup also includes Holy F***, Beach House, Yeasayer and !!! (Chk Chk Chk). Are you drooling yet? Tickets are selling like hotcakes, so get a move on if you haven’t already. See you there!

The Laneway Festival will be on Sat, Jan 29 at Fort Canning Park. Tickets available here.
