He certainly needs no introduction but the Rocket Man Elton Johnwill be bringing his hits“ Saturday Night’s Alright (for Fighting)”, “Rocketman”, “Levon” and “Your Song” to the Singapore Indoor Stadium this Sunday. He will be joined by his long time band Davey Jonston, Nigel Olsson, Robert Birch, Jeffrey Bullard and John Mahon for his Greatest Hits Tour. Joining the band also will be 2CELLOS, the young YouTube Croation duo of Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser. K-Pop fans have plenty to scream about as their heartthrobs boyband 2PM swings by Singapore for a concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium this Saturday.
East Coast post-grunge/pop-punk outfit Good Charlotteperforms at Hard Rock Hotel’s The Coliseum this Friday. Originally formed as a poppunk act, the band have sold over 10 million records to date, penned countless mainstream radio hits such as "The Anthem," "Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous" and "Hold On” and shared the stage with everyone from Justin Timberlake to Third Eye Blind.
With a name like that, Mando-pop singer Crowd Lu certainly can draw in the crowds with his amazing hits. Come watch him perform on stage at the Grand Theater, Marina Bay Sands this Saturday.
Also dropping by this weekend is Swedish singer/actress Lisa Lovbrand. Apart from serving up jazzy-pop tunes, Lovbrand has been pretty busy in Hollywood, acting with Matt Damon in Stuck On You (2003) and Attack Force (2006) with Steven Seagal. She performs at TAB this Friday.
On the party front, Brazilian act The Twelvesholds court at Zouk this Saturday. With a multitude re-edits for M.I.A. and New Young Pony Club that have seen heavy support from acts like Kissy Sell Out and MSTRKRFT, the duo bring on their unique blend of live keyboards, drum machines and mash-ups.
Over at Avalon, Felix da Housecat, the master of all things disco and electro will spin his magic. If you’re into deep dark thrashy disco with bits of electro thrown in for good measure, prance on down to MBS this Saturday.
This weekend also marks the start of Affordable Art Fair. This year’s fair will feature up to 75 galleries, 25 more than in 2010. So load up on art this weekend at the F1 Pit Building. Read more about the Affordable Art Fair here.
Clarke Quay gets all slushy, sweet and creamy this weekend with its inaugural I Love Ice Creamfair! This Saturday and Sunday from 1-5pm, you can tuck into some sweet frosty treats from 15 ice cream parlors such as Haato, Marble Slab Creamery, Scoopz, Seventh Heaven, Salted Caramel and Olivye.
