2012 is looking to be a year of movie blockbusters with The Dark Knight Rises, The Hunger Games and The Amazing Spider Man, just to name a few are set to burst the box office.
But only one movie are one everyone’s lips since July is The Avengers and Marvel Studios just dropped the first teaser trailer for the superhero supergroup movie.
Directed by Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Firefly) and featuring all of your favourite Marvel heroes including Captain America, Thor and Shellhead himself, The Avengers is poised to be the biggest comic book movie of all time.
The Avengers trailer, begins with a menacing monologue from fallen Norse god Loki, last seen at the end of Thor falling into a cosmic abyss.
"You were made to be ruled," he whispers cruelly as shots of carnage and chaos flood the screen, "and in the end, it will be every man for himself.
The scene then cuts to Agent Coulson and his boss, Nick Fury, putting their heads together about how best to solve this unknown, ongoing crisis hatched by Loki and his devious plotting. "There was an idea," Fury says, "to bring together a group of remarkable people, so that when we needed them, they could fight the battles that we never could."
The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man; Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk; Chris Evans as Captain America; Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow; Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye; Tom Hiddleston as Loki; Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury; Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson; and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and will hit screens April 2012.
