So what exactly happened when Hansel and his sister Gretel escaped from the clutches of the evil witch in the gingerbread house?
No one actually know… until now.
After narrowly escaping with their lives, the pair became bounty hunters dedicated to ridding the world of witches.
‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters’ is based some 15 years after the events in the Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

The pair are now grown-up, leather-clad, killer witch assassins (played by Renner and Gemma Arterton) – with an arsenal of witch-killing tools that include Steampunked firearms and wires for decapitation as you can see from the new trailer below.
Rather than going all dark ala ‘Snow White & The Huntsman’ or downright campy like ‘Mirror Mirror’, Tommy Wirkola, the Norwegian filmmaker responsible for the ‘Kill Bill’ parody ‘Kill Buljo: The Movie’ and Nazi zombie action-comedy ‘Dead Snow’ decided to give ‘Witch Hunters’ a pulpy-low brow treatment with loads of blood spatter, some horror, humour, cheesy 3D effects as well as the creepily sexy witches (only when they're in human mode).
Its blend of humour and horror plus supernatural-killing hunters are reminiscent of ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ which is a plus and with its Tarantino-esque visual style, this might just be a sleeper hit when it comes out.
