School’s Out! Week 1

After the madness of the school year and exams, it’s time for the kids to finally relax! From now till the end of 2010, there’ll be plenty of time to relax and get away from stressful school homework, activities and such.

For those of you who are raring go to out and have fun, we’ve rounded up the best events this week to make it that much easier! Stumped for choice? Catch them all!

Are you easily enchanted by magicians? Experience the delicious thrills of excitement when you watch a flawless magic performance with Explore Singapore!, an ongoing series of performances at various museums over three weekends.

Featuring Singapore’s premier illusionists J C Sum & ‘Magic Babe’ Ning, the programme also includes toy carnivals guided museum tours, open houses and much more! The best part is – it’s all free!

(Note: Some activities may not be suitable for children under 6, so parents, find out a little more and please use your discretion!)

Let your kids be awe-struck in a different fashion at the Festival of the Stars (until Saturday, Nov 20, admission to event is free but usual center charges apply) at the Science Center and Snow City. For young ones fascinated by astronomy, you’ll get a chance to observe Jupiter through a telescope, as well as catch the annual Leonids Meteor Shower. To sweeten the deal, there’ll also be performances, astronomy talks and ice-cream workshops at Snow City.

For parents keen on having a more in-depth bonding session with your kids, the Sleep with the Beasts Family Camp is tailor-made for you (Sat Nov 20 – Sun Nov 21 , S$155 per adult, S$130 per child from 3 to 12 yrs).
