Sofitel So Singapore welcomes guests from 31 May with special opening promotions

The wait is almost over.

Luxury boutique hotel Sofitel So Singapore will open its doors on Saturday 31 May, and there are plenty of benefits for those among the first to experience the “France meets Singapore”-style rooms and facilities.

Located within a heritage-listed building on Robinson Road, each of Sofitel So Singapore's 134 lavish rooms is illuminated by a cupola light-box set in its 3m-high ceiling. Wi-Fi is complimentary and every room is kitted out with an iPad Mini, an iPhone 5 and an Illy coffee machine. The hotel's emblem, known as The Lion's Seal, was designed by fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld.

Sofitel So Singapore features a rooftop pool, the chic HI-SO pool bar – touted as the Central Business District's only beach club – and Xperience Restaurant & Bar. Chef Anne-Cecile Degenne, one of Singapore's female hotel executive chefs who has worked alongside the likes of Jean-Georges Vongerichten, heads Xperience. The restaurant has a unique experiential dining concept with customised menus built around offerings in different sizes, flavours and textures, so choose from "crunchy", "juicy", "smoky", "creamy", "silky", "spicy" and "zesty". Michelin-starred guest chefs from around the world will also make regular visits to present their cuisines, the first being Hokkaido native, Chef Yuichi Kamimura.

Discerning staycationers must check out the hotel's Weekends @ So package. Available for stays of one, two and three nights, the package includes an Xperience Brunch for two. One, two- and three-night stays also offer all-day breakfast for two and two glasses of champagne to start the day right (in case you didn’t get enough at brunch the day before).

The Xperience brunch menu changes from week to week, depending on Chef Degenne's inspirations, visiting chefs and seasonal ingredients. With an in-house DJ spinning chilled-out tunes to set the mood, diners can expect a spread of the finest weekend brunch fare including French oysters, lobsters and an array of mains and desserts. Free flow of champagne, premium wines and cocktails completes the indulgence. The package is available from Fridays to Sundays between 31 May and 31 December 2014, with rates starting at $599 per room per night.

To celebrate its opening, Sofitel So Singapore will also be rewarding guests with the '100 Dollars, 100 Days' promotion. For every room booked for its first 100 days of operation (31 May to 7 September), guests will receive $100 food and beverage credit to be used at Xperience and HI-SO during their stay.
