One of the most established festivals for Japanese pop culture in the region – featuring anime producers, screenwriters and voice artists – the three-day Anime Festival Asiais on this weekend at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. The festival will also host the largest gathering of cosplay guests from Asia.

Singapore International Film Festival kicks off this weekend after a two-year break. On the line-up are 147 films from 50 countries. Don't miss films SUCH AS 'Clouds of Sils Maria' starring Juliette Binoche and Kirsten Stewart, 'Rubbers', starring Yeo Yann Yann, and John Woo's 'The Crossing'.

The popular classic Chinese story gets the Wild Rice treatment in Monkey Goes West. Join Chua Enlai, Siti Khalijah and Sugie Phua as they retell the tale of the Monkey King, Pigsy and Sandy in a Singapore setting.

Can you hear the sleigh bells ringing already? Yes Christmas is almost here, and Gardens by the Bay will be transformed into a Christmas Wonderland this holiday season. Journey into Santa’s workshop with Singapore Repertory Theatre’s The Little Company, as it presents the lively musical, ‘Junior Claus. Grumpo the greedy elf takes over the yuletide season and tries to destroy it, and it is up to Junior Claus and his friends to save the day.

Tokyobike Singapore (38 Haji Lane) is launching 'Art of Cycle', an exhibition of custom bike art from the likes of Singapore design talents including Non/Aligned VJs, Mash-Up, Daryl Chan (sifr), Ink & Clog, and Tell Your Children's Oak&Bindi. The show is in support of the upcoming Super 0 Openair party in January 2015.

British DJ and producer James Zabiela takes his brand of progressive house and techno to Velvet Underground at Zouk this Friday for its flagship 'Parallel' night. As a DJ, Zabiela has steadily built up a reputation for his technical wizardry, taking his knob-twiddling dexterity to the stages of Kazantip, Godskitchen, Exit Festival, Creamfields and beyond.

Glasgow electronica artiste Kode9 and DJ Spinn will be holding court in Canvas at The Riverwalk, to celebrate London music label Hyperdub’s 10th anniversary. Expect lots of beats, blips and beeps.
