The 1975 to play debut concert in Singapore

With their trademark black and white music videos and visuals, the new definition of cool comes in the form of British indie rockers The 1975.

Named after a scribbling that the lead singer found in the back of a beat poetry book, the indie pop-rock quartet from Manchester are made up of Matt Healy on lead vocals and guitar, Adam Hann on guitar, George Daniel on drums and Ross Macdonald on bass.

They will be playing in Singapore for the first time on 22 July at the The Coliseum at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Having played opening slots for Muse, The Rolling Stones and Bastille in the past year, the boys are no strangers to large crowds and sold-out arenas. Nor are they strangers to chart success. Their debut album went straight to number 1 in the UK when released in September 2013.

The 1975's self-titled debut album

The album, ‘The 1975’, is described as containing the bands’ stories of “lust, intoxication and the unabashed grittiness of modern youth”. Exploring themes of discovery in the context of sex, love, drugs, fear, hope and death, their alternative rock heralded the return of the ‘guitar band’ to British music.

Here’s your chance to get up close with Matt and the boys. Universal Music Singapore is giving away five pairs of concert tickets and meet and greet pass bundles.
