The music never stops this weekend!

What a fabulous weekend this is turning out to be for music lovers! Whether you’re into K-pop, J-pop, Canto-pop, Western rock, local rock or evergreen classics, you’ll wake up smiling in anticipation of all the music superstars that will be hitting our shores soon. Excited yet? Read on!

You’ve seen the hordes of overexcited fans queuing up for an eternity to snare these hotcake tickets, now the highly-anticipated event is finally due to hit town! Korean Pop Night promises to be a night of spectacular entertainment with top Korean acts Big Bang, F.T Island, SHINee, INFINITE and more in town for one night only.

Tickets reputedly sold out in a matter of hours, so if you didn’t manage to get your hands on a pair, fret not! Satisfy your cravings for all things Korean by checking out the Korean Film Festival (don’t miss our pick of the highlights), or head down to the Korean Pop Art exhibition.

On the same night, Canto- and Mando-pop fans also have much to rejoice. Top-billing superstar Dave Wang (王杰) returns as part of his Dave Wang World Tour (tickets still available!), as well as legendary chanteuse Fong Fei Fei who promises to dazzle fans with her selection of evergreen classics (get your tickets now).

Eric Clapton

I’m sure you’ve all heard of legendary guitarist Eric Clapton coming to town, but don’t miss out on catching equally impressive guitarist Tommy Emmanuel as he rocks our shores this Sunday (check out expert contributor Patrick Chng’s other recommendations on live gigs in October).  Tickets are still available for this performance, so get yours now! Japanese soft rockers Anzenchitai will also be making their long-awaited debut in Singapore on Sunday (get tickets).

Lastly, for a twist on the traditional Oktoberfest, check out Timbre’s local take, Roktober! Expect the signature flow of beer, sausages and good live music from our veterans of the local F & B industry.

That rounds up our picks for the weekend, but do check out our Calendar for a comprehensive listing of the events and activities that are ongoing! Have a great weekend, people, and remember to check back next Monday for our highlights on what you shouldn’t miss next week!
