"I love this city, I've been here three or four times now and the people are always so friendly and the food is out of this world!"
Actor Hugh Jackman doesn't hide his enthusiasm to please fans wherever he goes and this is from someone who has just flown more than 16 hours across the world from New York City.
"It is just like New York," he exclaimed as crowds jostle for space to catch the actor in Hong Kong's Times Square to promote his new movie, 'Pan' on 28 October 2015.
Always the crowd-pleaser, fans cheered when he mastered some Cantonese phrases, including "hello", "thank you" and "welcome to Neverland"; never showing signs of jet-lag.
With 'Pan', the 46-year-old Australian actor veers off his usual good-guy roles to play a villainous pirate called Blackbeard, swapping the trademark X-Men's Wolverine mutton-chops for a goatee, flamboyant period costumes and a shaven pate.
Based on JM Barrie's original book 'Peter Pan', 'Pan' acts as a sort of prequel to the iconic story of the 'Boy Who Never Grows Up'.
"Who doesn't want to be a pirate?" Jackman quipped, describing the joys of taking part in a "pirate bootcamp" in which he and the rest of the actors spent a week learning to fight with swords and other seafaring pursuits in order to prepare for the film.

In the evening, the actor also took part in the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival Fire Dragon Dance in Tai Hang - the first time an international star has joined in the historic event.
Jackman gamely tried his hand twirling a "dragon pearl" (a pomelo studded with burning sticks of incense and fixed to a pole), the highlight of this year's event.
