The YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour brings Big Bang, 2NE, Psy and more to Singapore for a two-day concert on 13 and 14 September.
The Korean entertainment company (named so after the nickname of the founder, ‘Yang Goon’) is one of the most prolific record labels and talent agencies in South Korea.
Responsible for some of the biggest names in K-pop, it will be a rare opportunity to see the likes of marquee band Big Bang and sister group 2NE1 sharing the stage, on the only Southeast Asian stop of the tour. ‘Gangnam Style’ star Psy, whose video of the same name has over 1 billion views, will also grace the stage.
Big Bang and 2NE1 are no strangers to Singapore, having played sold-out concerts here before. It will be Psy's first time in Singapore.
Psy's most recent single with Snoop Dogg, 'Hangover'
Newer groups like hip hop trio EPIK High and debut boy band Winner will also be joining the lineup to play at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Fans can also look forward to solo performances and inter-group collaborations from YG’s stable of artistes, come show day.
Tickets range from $168 to $398 (VIP tickets) and will go sale from Saturday, 19 July via www.sportshubtix.sg.
The last such mega concert was held by rival Korea entertainment label, SM, which brought the likes of Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, BoA and Exo for the ‘SM Town Live World Tour III’ concert at the Marina Bay Floating platform. The four-hour long concert saw over 23,000 fans in attendance.
It remains to be seen whether the 10,000-seat capacity Singapore Indoor Stadium will be able to house all of YG’s fans.
