ZoukOut goes cashless this year

For those of us who has been to any ZoukOut, running out of cash is quite a chore. And finding an ATM to get cash for another round of G&Ts can be quite a hassle.

This year, ZoukOut is going cashless.

Festival-goers can look forward to getting their drinks and bar-bites when they have the munchies by just tapping their EZ-Link cards. Isn't that neat or what?

"It is the perfect solution to push the festival forward in our mission to improve the visitor experience, and together with our A-list line-up and programming, it will elevate ZoukOut’s status as a world-class music festival and set a cashless trend for outdoor dance parties,” said Timothy Chia, Zouk's head of marketing and events.

This new system will give attendees that don't possess a credit card an alternative mode of payment.

EZ-Link and Zouk will also be commemorating this collaboration by launching ZoukOut Limited Edition ez-link cards, exclusively designed by Zouk, as a ZoukOut 2013 keepsake.

These limited edition design cards, which cost $10 each, will be made available for purchase prior to the event from TransitLink Ticket Offices at City Hall, Orchard, Bugis, Changi Airport, Chinatown, Lavendar, Farrer Park, Woodlands and Somerset MRT stations from 25 November to 11 December.

Festivalgoers can also buy the ZoukOut Limited Edition ez-link cards at the on-site sales booths if they do not have one with them, and reload their cards at the top-up stations via credit card or cash.

Those who top up $50 to their EZ-Link cards via Citibank credit cards between 8pm and 9pm at the ZoukOut festival grounds on both nights will be entitled to one free alcoholic drink. Holders of the Citibank SMRT Platinum Visa Card can also make use of its EZ-Link function at the party.
